Welcome! Like so many pages out there, this is a page to keep our relatives and friends up to date on what we've been doing, and how Bryden and Gavin have been growing. It's a chance to share some family pictures (October/Halloween 2008 pictures have been added!) and stories with the people we don't get to see in person as often as we'd like, and an opportunity to post some information about some of the various climbs, hikes, and other adventures we've done.
If you're visiting this site because of a trip report I've posted here, and you'd like more info, feel free to email me -
I love to talk about our trips, and I'd be happy to provide you with any route details, or recommendations I can remember!
Other sites with good info on hiking and climbing in the Pacific Northwest:
Suumit Post - A great community site, with info on many Washington peaks
Cascade Climbers - A community site featuring a timely local bulletin board for climbers, although the regulars can be quite caustic at times.
Northwest Hikers - Another community site, this time focusing on hiking (with an excellent NW outdoor history section)
Climbing Washington - Jeff Smoot's site, featuring good info on all sorts of climbs in Washington, including new route info and corrections to his climbing guides.
Northwest Weather and Avalanche Conditions - the best mountain weather site, and a necessary site to check for avalanche conditions before any winter or spring climbing trips.
Boealps (Boeing Alpine Society) web site. This is the climbing club I'm active with.
Steve Fox's web site. Check out his avalanche story under his hiking and climbing section...
Gordon Schryer's web site - the site's gone stale, but it's still the home of the Marymoor Rock climbing guide!
Phil Spory's hiking site - good archive of trip reports, but the site has gone stale
Just thinking about getting into climbing? You can't start with a better resource than Tradgirl's climbing FAQ
Eric Hoffman's site has a bunch of trip reports, some to some of the more unusual destinations
Send email to Matt, Maren, Bryden or Gavin!
